I believe, after two depressing posts, that it is time for some happiness. Yes, it's been quite the long week for myself and many others, but unfortunately, life goes on. And with life going on, that means time to get back to work.
I was very worried about going back to work and being away from my comfort zone, which has become my bedroom recently. However, all my worries went away when I got moving. And, it doesn't help that we have babies to watch over and answer 230948209348093284 questions. Yeah, that's not a joke, that's how many questions I answered tonight.
Any-who, after a long and boring shift, I was ready to go home like every other night. Of course, I couldn't go home because I was one of the last ones to get cut. (FYI, cut means that I am no longer taking tables). I knew that I was going to be cut after the one closer got back from her break. The greeter came up to me, and told me that I had 6 in section one. I moaned and groaned and complained about how I just wanted to go home; typical Attitudey Judey moment right there.
I walk up to the table and all I see are 6 guys crammed at a table made for four. I kind of just laugh it off at first, but then realize that I lucked out with them being my last table. I'm going to assume that they all are the same age as I or very close to my age; which is 20 for those of you who don't know me outside of this blog. Out of the 6, 4 of them ordered breakfast. And, it being my last table of the night, my IDGAF (that stands for I don't give a fuck, for those of you who are not up on the computer lingo) meter was full, and so I let them order whatever they wanted. For example, one got bananas foster and instead of meat, got french fries. Or the one got applesauce instead of meat. I mean, it was whatever, and to make it better, my manager was 5-feet away from where they were sitting.
Whether they believe me or not, they really did make my night. It's one thing for the people who I have basically spent day and night with, for the last year of my life to be there for me during this tough time. However, it is another for 6 random strangers to be so kind. Now, they didn't know right off the bat what I had just been through, but after talking and telling them about this blog, and them continuing to look this blog up, they eventually did know. I got a heart symbol and an offer of a hug, which I at first denied. But, what girl really denies a hug? So before they left I hugged Mr. Blue Sweater Man, or as his friends know him, Matt.
Maybe it's just the lack of sleep I have been getting, but I am seriously shocked that random strangers can be so kind. It really does open my eyes to the world, and it makes me realize that there are nice people out there. Now, there's probably none left in Dub-City, but I have a car, which means I can get out of this place and see the kindness.
To end this, I just want to say thank-you to those guys. It meant a lot that you cared that much, and it meant a lot that you went out of your way to stop at Eat 'N Park. (Inside joke. You wouldn't understand).
PS. Boys, make sure you take your sassy-pants off.. ;)
