Not second rate citizens.

I thought I would have written about this already, but I guess I was wrong. This is something that I feel very strong about. I also have been accused myself of being a lesbian all because of how strong my feelings are.

I am not one to judge. I was taught as a child to never judge a book by it's cover. And I took that to heart, and never have and never will. Even as a young child, I knew being different was sometimes looked down upon. One Christmas I asked for a color baby, and received that baby doll, and whenever someone asked me about it I would get all defensive.

Now, I'm not sure where this all started from. And by "this" I mean, my passion for gay rights. But for as long as I can remember I have thought that if a man and a woman can get married, why can't a man and a man? or a woman and a woman? Humans are humans, they are going to do what they want no matter what anyone things, so why try and stop them?

Now, to really get to the point of this post. Kids these days are coming out earlier and earlier in their life and other kids are taking advantage of that. I was watching a video clip today of a pageant girl saying that she feels that marriage is between a man and a woman because that is how she was raised. HI. THIS IS THE 21ST CENTURY BITCH. YOU CAN DECIDE FOR YOURSELF NOW! The way parents raise their kids can affect the lives of the other kids around them.

I'm not even sure how many there are, and not sure I even want to know, but there are WAY too many suicides and murders of young kids just because they are gay. I don't see why we as humans need a reason to hate one another. We did this forever and a year ago about African Americans, and here we are again. Thankfully, African Americans eventually did become equal and have the same rights as Caucasians.

I just don’t see why we can’t accept one another just the way we are made. I want to leave with this quote that I had a friend tell me once. Now mind you he is a very religious man. He told me once, “We are all made in the eyes of God. Whether we are black, white, red, yellow, fat, tall, short, skinny, gay, bi, or straight. God is all of those things, and we should respect that.”
